2005 Top Gym and All-Around Event Finals

At her first international assignment Shawn came on strong, scoring the highest score of the meet, a 9.600 on vault, followed by 9.050 on bars, an 8.950 on beam, and a solid 8.850 on floor. Her all-around score, 36.450, placed her in 1st place. Romania's Aluissa Lacusteanu followed Shawn in the all-around, 36.025, and Shawn's teammate, Ivana Hong, placed third with an all-around score of 35.50.

Shawn advanced to all four event finals but only competed in the vault and floor exercise finals. Shawn, once again, performed great routines on vault: DOUBLE TWISTING YURCHEKNO and floor: ARABIAN DOUBLE FRONT, FULL IN, FRONT LAYOUT + FRONT FULL, AND DOUBLE PIKE and won the gold medal on both events! Ivana Hong made it a US sweep in event finals, claiming gold on bars and beam.
