With two flawless nights of competition held in San Jose, California for the VISA National Championships, Shawn dominated the senior competition.

In the preliminaries, Shawn started on the uneven bars with a very solid routine (15.300).  Next was balance beam, one of Shawn's favorite events!  She performed a great routine but had a wobble on her standing full (15.750).  Floor exercise and vault followed which included some difficult tumbling but looked like a walk in the park for Shawn (15.500 and 15.200).  With an all-around score of 61.750, Shawn was standing in first place going into Sunday evenings finals.

Finals was certainly a spectacular day for Shawn.  Her first event was balance beam where she hit every skill so solid.  She scored a 16.100 to start off her night!  Floor exercise followed beam and Shawn showed some high flying tumbling skills with solid landings for a score of 15.350.  Her double-twisting yurchekno on vault was another solid vault for Shawn, 15.150. And scoring the same on uneven bars as the previous night (15.300), this routine solidified her national titile!  With an all-around score of 61.900 and a combined total of 123.650, Shawn was crowned the 2007 US National Champion!  She also placed first on balance beam and floor exercise and placed third on the uneven bars.

Shawn was also named to the 2007 World Championship team!  She will be representing the USA in Germany on September 1-9.
