More Medals in Canada

Montreal, Canada was where Shawn, Samantha Peszek, Shantessa Pama, and Bridget Salon traveled to this weekend to represent the USA in the junior competition of the 06 gymnix International.In the preliminary round, Shawn looked to be in top shape, hitting new routines and skills on floor (14.850), vault (14.750), and uneven bars (14.400). Unfortunately, Shawn had two falls on balance beam but she still performed three other solid routines for the bronze medal in the all around (57.950)!Shawn qualified for the event finals held on Saturday; vault, uneven bars, and floor exercise. She performed her usual vault, double twisting yurchenko, and scored a 15.050, which placed her second behind teammate Samantha Peszek for the silver medal! On the uneven bars, Shawn performed new skills, including a straddled Jaeger for a score of 13.700 (a few form deductions) for fourth place. And her final event, floor exercise, was flawless! Shawn debut her new floor routine with five tumbling passes! Shawn scored a 14.600 placing her in first place above teammate Shantessa Pama.Congratulations on your great accomplishments this weekend, Shawn!!
