Team, All-Around, Beam, and Bars Gold at PAN AMS

Shawn won the all-around yet again at this past weeks Pan American Games in Brazil. Team USA did amazing in the team competition! The U.S. women won the team title at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, making this their second straight Pan Am team title and 11th overall.  The six women earned a total of 243.225 to finish ahead of hometown favorite Brazil, which tallied 236.725.  Mexico was third at 223.625.

Shawn, Ivana Hong, and Rebecca Bross qualified to the all-around competition and represented the US very well.  All three Americans placed 1-2-3 on the podium with Shawn leading the way (61.725).

Event finals was another successful day for Shawn and Team USA.  Shawn took the gold on the balance beam and uneven bars, beating teammate Nastia Liukin.  On floor exercise she took home the silver medal with USA's Rebecca Bross taking the gold.

Shawn earned five medals (four gold medals and one silver) this weekend.  Congratulations Shawn!!
